Spiritual Nourishment
There are so many great opportunities for giving, aren’t there. My email is exploding today with many quality organizations who are doing much good.
I’m not sure who started Giving Tuesday, but the timing is spot on! In the midst of intense spending on me and mine, I’m reminded of my privilege. I have so much and so many do not. It is a wakeup call to the reason behind the season.
So, we at Selah join in the “ask.” Our direct focus is not those in need physically, but we certainly serve many who are in need spiritually. The impetus for launching Selah was the need of those in ministry to be spiritually fed. I grew up in parts of the country who did not have the rich spiritual resources of the Bible belt. I wanted to offer quality spiritual resources in the form of online courses for those in ministry both here in the States and abroad. Many have taken advantage of our courses and from the feedback we’ve received, they’ve been blessed.
And the second stage after the courses was the addition of the Certificate in Spiritual Direction. The role of spiritual direction is about walking alongside others in their spiritual journey and facilitating their relationship with God. We’ve trained many in our eighteen years and know that God has used them as instruments of the kingdom in the lives of so many. For scores of our graduates, they serve as spiritual directors in the formal sense, but our greatest complement is when those who’ve completed our program tell us that the experience changed who they are. They are different in all conversations, with a greater attunement to the Spirit.
So, that is our “ask.” Please prayerfully consider helping us in this journey of offering spiritual nourishment.
Grace and peace to you,
Jackie
