Grace for Eating
As Jackie said New Year’s resolutions can be helpful even though we break them, kind of like needing God’s grace every time we fall which is often. We go to Him in prayers with our sins and areas of weakness, receive His grace and then, though determined not to, succumb to the flesh again. We bring them to Him again; He helps us.
Our eating is like that, our determination to live a healthier life style: we resolve and then we fail. I encourage you to take that resolve, as well as those failures, to God and receive His grace, receive His forgiveness, and His help to do better next time, to grow.
Each time we bring our weaknesses to the father, as well as our victories, we grow. He will help us. We must have his help for without him we can do nothing.
A Quick Fix
Ingredients: 1 cup steel cut oats
4 cups water
Put 1 cup steel cut oats in a pan with 4 cups water. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally. Turn off the heat when gently boiling and cover. Let set overnight and it is ready for breakfast the next morning. Delicious with maple syrup, walnuts, raisins, sliced banana or apple or blueberries, almond milk.
Store leftovers in covered container in refrigerator.
We served this for our overnight guests this morning.
