Walking the Labyrinth retreat
Jul 10th - Jul 12th, 2015
Dr. Jackie L. Halstead
St. Mary's Sewanee, Sewanee, TN
Tradition suggests that the early Church urged believers to make a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. This became increasingly difficult as the Christian world grew and an answer was found in the creation of the labyrinth–a metaphor for this journey. Join us on retreat as we enter into this ancient practice of prayer. Throughout the weekend, we will participate in the three movements of the labyrinth—purgation (relief of concerns and burdens), illumination (enlightenment), and union (joining into the work of God).
