Nan’s Nuggets: All things without murmuring and complaining
“Do all things without murmuring and complaining that you may be as stars in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. ”
We humans can complain about anything. The bountiful garden I have been working in this morning has led me to murmur: “What am I going to do with all of this stuff?”
“The lettuce Is getting too tall and can’t be eaten.”
“Oh no, I have to wash these squash and then cook them and I already have a bunch of squash in the refrigerator.”
“I wanted to make tabouli with all of this parsley but I don’t know when I will do it. And I have to do something with those red peppers I roasted last night.”
“When will I have time to do what I want to do? And what about my Bible study? Looks like that’s not happening today.”
Gripe. Gripe. Gripe. Like the Israelites I am complaining. In shame I remember that God told Moses that the people were complaining not against Moses but against Him, and I am doing the same.
I am a mess and in great need of a Savior. I am so thankful to God that I have One. His name is Jesus. Lord, forgive me for my complaining. Help me to be diligent, to share what I have, and to be grateful”, I pray in Jesus Name, Amen.
