WHAT IS OFFERED: Specialty in Ignatian Spiritual Direction
This program is for those who have a certificate in spiritual direction and desire more training in Ignatian spirituality including; practicing Christian discernment, facilitating small groups, and deepening prayer.
Participants should have regular spiritual practices and be active in offering spiritual direction. The program involves directed readings, contact with a spiritual mentor, one residential retreat with other participants and staff, and a final integrative paper.
The residency include teaching on Ignatian spirituality and prayer, theology of the Spiritual Exercises, history in Christian spirituality, discernment, self-care of the director, and ethics in ministry. There will also be group and one-on-one spiritual direction sessions as well as a guided silent retreat. This program is limited to 10 participants.
WHAT IS REQUIRED:
Read from a bibliography that focuses on Ignatian spirituality and the ministry of spiritual direction. There is a pre-residency list Click here on the Spiritual Exercises, discernment, and prayer.
Write a final reflective paper describing the manner in which Ignatian spirituality enhances/impacts you and your ministry of spiritual direction. This can include the personal impact on you as well as readings and the residency. Your paper should demonstrate the integration of the topics covered during the residency. Paper is due September 30, 2017.
Participate in one 5-day intensive residency, July 24-28, 2017.
Deadline for application to the 2017 cohort is March 31, 2017. To fulfill the application process, complete the following:

- Complete the essay questions. SD Two Application Essay Questions
- Have three individuals send in recommendations (This step is not needed if a graduate of the Selah Spiritual Direction Program). Recommendation Form
Staff will review the materials and invitations will be sent out by May 15, 2017.
COST OF PROGRAM:
